Faroese metal Titans Tyr have been forced to cancel their upcoming Sydney Show, and change the proposed date and venue of their Brisbane date on their upcoming Australian tour.

The Sydney show, slated for Tuesday 12th May at the Crowbar venue, , will go ahead with Russia’s Arkona now assuming the sole headlining mantle. The Brisbane show, also at the Crowbar, has been moved from that venue to the Woolly Mammoth. Originally slated for May 13th, this show will now take place on May 10th.

No reasons have been given for this upheaval, save for the changes being beyond the control of the bands involved. However several of the shows on Tyr’s most recent European tour have been disrupted by the Sea Shepherd Organisation, which objects to Tyr frontman Heri Joensen‘s participation in the island’s annual Grindadrap cull of Whales and Dolphins.

Refunds are available at point of purchase for those dissatisfied, whilst promoters have offered a free ticket to Tyr’s Canberra show at The Basement on May 11th for any Sydney ticket holders who can make their way to the Nation’s Capital on a Monday night.
