King are an unfaltering and melancholic blackened metal entity. Keeping the spirit of old while carving a new path, epic while remaining raw, they are majestic while retaining a primitive atmosphere.

Within Reclaim The Darkness, King create the perfect soundtrack to tell tales of an old world, a world forged by the gods and walked by giants. Tales of dark and bleak battles, never ending winters and the wonders of time and space.

The band was formed in 2013 by David Hill and Tony Forde  – both of whom had worked together previously on grindcore and death metal projects – the pair sharing the same drive to create something with more depth and space to express their musical ideas and concepts. David Haley joined King on drums in 2014 to complete the line up, his drum arrangements perfectly captured the atmosphere of King, taking the compositions to the next level.

Drawing from shared musical influences like Immortal, Moonsorrow, In Flames, Satyricon, Dissection and Soilwork, the underlying focus during the writing process was on strong song structures to allow the arrangements to effortlessly transition between raw black metal and epic, soaring layered melodies.

“We had a blast making this music video, head banging in a smoke filled room for hours! The end result, we feel creates the perfect backdrop for a song that encompasses all elements of King’s sound””. said guitarist Hill of the new clip.

King will make their live debut opening for black metal titans, Inquisition, when they tour Australia in August:
