NWoBHM legends Angel Witch have released the following statement in regard to the fire which destroyed a West London Tower block a couple of days ago:
“We don’t have too much to offer to the victims of the terrible fire which befell Grenfell Tower, West London in the early hours of this morning. But what we do have is ownership of these demos from 1978 / 1979 – pay want you want for them, and we we will donate it all (once we suss out the best place to send it)”.
About the demos: “These are the demo tapes recorded by Angel Witch in 1978 & 1979, on various reel to reel recording devices across the attics and front rooms of their native South London. These recordings comprise the earliest, embryonic versions of tracks such as White Witch, Baphomet and Sorceress which would remain staples in the Angel Witch live cannon almost forty years later, testament to the songwriting skills of the then eighteen year old, Kevin Heybourne. These cuts are rough and raw, and all the better for it”.
